Skin | Acne

Acne is the term for plugged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), pimples, and even deeper lumps (cysts or nodules) that occur on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and even the upper arms. Acne affects most teenagers to some degree. However, the disease is not restricted to a particular age group; adults in their 20s - even into their 40s - can get acne. While not a life threatening condition, acne can be upsetting and disfiguring. Severe acne can lead to serious and permanent scarring. Premier dermatologists recommend teenagers be evaluated at the first sign of acne in order to prevent scarring.
Face | Broken Blood Vessels

Telangiectasias are dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin. They can be found anywhere on the body but are more commonly seen on the face (nose, cheeks and chin) and legs (particularily the thighs, below the knees and ankles). Telangiectasias are common in healthy people and are usually caused by aging or sun damage. Telangiectasias are small red, blue or purple linear marks and will temporarily disappear when pressed with the finger.

Sun | Sun Damage

When sunlight hits your skin, it damages healthy cells. Without sun protection, this damage can build up. In time, you see signs of sun damage like freckles, age spots, and wrinkles. Some people develop precancerous skin growths, skin cancer, or both.
Skin | Eczema

Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic skin condition characterized by inflamed, itchy, and often red or dry patches on the skin's surface. It is believed to result from a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Immune system dysregulation, skin barrier dysfunction, and a predisposition to allergies play key roles in causing eczema.
Skin | Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a skin disorder in which the skin loses its natural pigment, resulting in irregular white patches on the skin. It can affect any part of the body, including the face, arms, and legs. While the cause of vitiligo is unknown, it is believed to be an autoimmune disorder. Fortunately, a dermatology provider can help treat vitiligo through a variety of treatments such as topical medications,
Skin | Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune skin disorder that accelerates the skin cell lifecycle, causing an excessive buildup of skin cells on the surface. This results in the formation of red, scaly patches that can be itchy, painful, and sometimes even debilitating. The exact cause of psoriasis is not fully understood, but it is believed to involve genetic predisposition and immune system dysfunction triggering an inflammatory response in the skin.
